"Beyond Epicenters" Project
The project titled "Beyond Epicenters: Assessing Earthquake Vulnerability Through Economic and Social Networks", prepared under the coordination of TED University Sustainable Trade Research Center (TEDUsTRC) and focusing on disaster studies, has been awarded funding by the European Commission under the European Union Horizon Europe – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) program.
A Holistic and Systemic Perspective on Disaster Risk
The 48-month project aims to analyze the cascading effects created by disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis not only through physical damage but also through the interdependencies among economic, social, and infrastructural networks.
Within the scope of the project, innovative risk assessment models will be developed using Türkiye, Morocco, and Portugal as case studies, and concrete, strategic contributions will be offered to policymakers based on the findings.
